John The Baptist

Written for a Sacrament talk

John The Baptist

The presidents of the United States,
can not compare,
To the man who wore clothing,
made of camels hair

The man who recieved the priesthood,
at the age of eight,
The fore-runner of a man
who would be so great

This man was to preach baptism,
to all men,
And also preach repentance,
for the remission of sins.

He preached to the people,
in the land,
So when Jesus gave his message,
they would understand.

He would preach in the wilderness,
every night and everyday
Make your pathway straight,
and keep it that way.

He said to prepare ye the way
of the Lord
For He will come soon,
with all accord.

And that he that hath two
shoes or coats
Let him impart to he,
that hath no coat

And that he that hath meat,
let him do likewise
For he will be seen good,
in the Lord's eyes.

And the prophet who was preaching,
all this
To anyone who would listen,
and not miss

Had a great role, in life
He was to baptise, Jesus Christ..
For He was.... John the Baptist
