Music - The Band

Written while watching my brother perform
in a high school band concert

Music can really be a little bit of fun
If you're in the left back, playing the drum

Or you might say, "take this and dump it"
If you're in the front, playing the trumpet

Obey the conductor and do what he tells
If you're way out front, playing the bells

Or if you have a conductor that likes to toot
You better watch out if you play the flute

Or you might say "throw that in a hair net"
If you're in the right middle, playing the clairnet

You might start feeling like you're on an ax
If you're behind the clarinets, playing the sax

Your lungs might start to hurt and you might say "uba"
If you're in the right back, playing that big tuba

Sometimes you might say "let's go home"
If you're in the back middle, playing the trombone

Or you might say "this is getting borin'"
If you're in the right middle, playing the french horn

You may never say "this is just like Rome"
If you're on the right side, playing the baritone

But we can't leave out the leader, no not at all
For he is the one who sweats most of all

Because without him the band wouldn't be too tall
In fact without him the band would just fall, fall, fall
