Remember When

Written for the girl I left behind

Remember all the fun times that we shared together
All the good times, and the love we had for each other
Remember all the times that we got mad and would fight
The silly actions we did, that must have been a sight
The times that we broke up, and I said "I didn't care"
So you would run off, to be with "the guy over there"
Then we would make up, and you told me I was "The one"
We'd be together, alone in love and having fun
Remember the dances, and the times at the movies
Our moments were like gems, yes I would say like rubies
But still there were trials, and the times that we got mad
Yet we worked them all out, and this time they weren't so bad
Remember the time, when I said there would be a test
To see if we could really stay true through a long rest
Remember the thoughts we had, about these two long years
All the emotions, the feelings, and sometimes the tears
Though I knew that it was right, there was still a big doubt
Yet there was only one way we could really find out
So the envelope came, and with it I got the call
To serve in the states, but where didn't matter at all
The fact that I would be gone, in service to the Lord
While you would try to find things to keep from being bored
Remember the airport, you did your best not to cry
And before I knew it, the airplane was in the sky
So now I'm out here, preaching on this side of the states
And the next two years will determine, "Can we be mates?"
Just remember our love and the things that we've been through
And keep in mind that the future, depends upon you
So study the scriptures daily, remember to pray
And our love for each other will reunite one day
